Linda Williams’ work follows an intuitive process of uncovering. Each piece charts her responses to her lived and felt surroundings in nature. Building her compositions through multiple layers of mark-making, adding and subtracting, she allows for surprises to occur. Often using a combination of sand, plaster, and found botanical materials such as twigs, flowers and moss in her works, the process is deeply organic when creating her abstract landscapes. A selection of broad brushes and knives, as opposed to fine point, allows the thickly applied media its own life and movement.
